DIY Jetted Bath Tub Kit

DIY Whirlpool Bathtub Kit

Do you want to convert a bathtub into a whirlpool bath with up to 6 jets? If so we have a DIY kit that is easy to install!
Kit Includes:
1x Bath Pump: 3/4HP, 115V 60HZ W/ Air Switch & Power
1x Pump Union: 1.5” Union Tee 1”S X 1”S
1x Suction Assembly:  1-1/2” (2-1/2" Hole Size)
1x Venturi Air Control: 1"S White
1x Air Button: #15 Classic Touch White (1-3/8" Hole Size)
1x Air Tubing: 1/8”ID X 10’
6x Slimline Bath Jets  1" Air x 1" Water (1-3/4" Hole size)
1x Instruction book

You can also add an in line bath heater to help keep the water hot. Additionally you can also upgrade the jet faces and the air button to Stainless steel.

All you need to source other than the parts in the kit is flexible PVC hose & glue, 1.5" & 1" pipe.
1.5" PVC to connect the Suction Fitting to the pump.
1" PVC connecting the water lines to the jets. The jet bodies are designed so that the water runs in series from one jet to the next. & 1" PVC for the air lines. The air line will run from the venturi fitting to each jet in series.
A GFCI protected electrical outlet is required for the pump & heater if you choose to install one. If your bath tub enclosure does not have one, please call an electrician for installation.
Tools: Drill & Hole Saws (1-3/8", 1-3/4" & 2-1/2") with appropriate tooth count for your bath tubs material. PVC Saw. This kit can be installed by anyone who is knowledgeable with basic power tools and is physically able to preform the task.

Spa Leaks!

Do you have a leaking spa?

A spa leak can be difficult to detect and repair.

Typically leaks occur at fittings in the spa walls such as jets, lights or suction fittings. Over time gaskets & o-rings will degrade and leaks will occur. Other common places for leaks to occur is at heater & pump unions. If your spa is well insulated with spray foam, leak detection is very difficult sorry.

Dripping water around your spas electrical components is dangerous, it is important to repair leaks quickly and when you are doing so disconnect the spa from electrical supply!

Slow leaks (not evaporation) aren't a major problem to begin with but over time the will grow. We advise correctly repairing the leaking fitting but a quick fix for slow leaks in a hot tub is Fix-A-Leak.  This product:

  • Seals leaks in virtually any material
  • For leaks in the walls, floor or shell
  • Works well in the plumbing system
  • Helps seal holes up to 1/8" in diameter
  • Forms a long-lasting seal
  • Spas use 4oz for 250 gallons
  • Will not harm Salt Chlorine Generators, Heaters, Pumps or Filters
Another water treatment type leak sealer is manufactured by Leisuretime, more suited to PVC plumbing leaks - PVC line leak sealer

More substantial leaks where one might notice that the water level is dropping to the same level each time. Usually the leak will be in one of the fittings right above that level. Once there is no water above the leak the problem will stop. In these cases replacing parts of the fitting are essential.
Suctions, jets and other through wall fittings in spas all work on the same theory. A wall fitting is inserted through the spas shell. A nut or other threaded fitting clamps a gasket and itself to the wall fitting creating a seal.

In most spas the leak is caused by a gasket that has degraded or a nut which has split and tension with the wall fitting is lost.
Determine which brand fittings you have and contact us as we carry more major manufactures parts.

Do not use standard silicon sealant, use DOW 732 or other PFTE based sealant or lubricant. Standard silicon has properties which damage most gaskets and seals in spas.

PVC Water & Air Manifolds

Spa Manifolds

Spas assembled in the 2000's and newer rely on PVC manifolds to divert air and water to the jets and other fittings. Manifolds are used as inline splitters or diverters allowing many jets to be connected to one line.

Air system manifolds are used for blowers, bubblers & Venturi's etc... available in PVC plumbing sizes 1/2", 3/4", 1" & 1.5" PVC all with barb fittings.
The barbs are usually 3/8" dia. for standard vinyl air tubing.

Water Manifolds are in 1.5" & 2" schedule 40 PVC & are available in many configurations; flow through, dead end etc... Water Manifolds act as diverters to feed water to individual jets. Water manifolds are commonly set up like this:

Water Manifold Example

Barb style water manifolds:

Mainly used with vinyl tubing, clamps or glue can be used for additional strength. These manifolds can be connected in series in lengths as long as your pump can handle. Available with Male x Female, FxF, MxM ends for increased flexibility. Barbs come in either smooth or ribbed sides.

SP Manifold 2"s x 2"spg x(6)3/4"barb (use 55-270-1519) 55-270-2290
Ribbed barb

Port style water manifolds:

Mainly used with Flexible PVC pipe. PVC glue should be used for additional strength. Port style manifolds are listed by PVC ID not ID of the port. 3/4" Pipe goes into a 1" port 1/2" into a 3/4" these are standard PVC sizes.

Manifold 2"S x 2"S, (6)3/4" Ports 55-270-2168
Barrel style water manifolds:

Mainly used with Flexible PVC pipe. Manifolds are listed by PVC ID not ID of the port. 3/4" Pipe goes into a 1" port 1/2" into a 3/4" this are standard PVC sizes. PVC glue should be used for additional strength.

Manifold 2"S x (5)1"S Ports 55-270-1574
Dead End style water manifolds:

End cap or dead end manifolds are available in 2, 4 & 6 port configurations. Mainly used with vinyl tubing, clamps or glue can be used for additional strength.

Water manifolds are also used for pools, ponds, aquariums and many other applications.
